The "My America" series was a photography project for 8th graders. The genesis of the project came from the photography of Ralph Eugene Meatyard. 40 years ago Meatyard used masks to cover the faces of friends, family, and acquaintances to focus on both their surroundings and their internal life. Our project is a continuation of this exploration. The guiding question was - Who are we?
